WE CREATE, NOURISH & SUSTAIN A CAMPAIGN FOR WOMEN’S AMBITION IN THE WORKPLACE

Despite more women graduating with degrees, equal levels of aspirations, and at par intelligence and capability, few are persevering in their careers.

Women are still underrepresented at every level in the corporate pipeline. Many people assume this is because women are leaving companies at higher rates than men or due to difficulties balancing work and family. However, several analysis and research tells a more complex story: women face greater barriers to advancement and a steeper path to senior leadership.

Female leadership is an imperative for organizations that want to perform at the highest levels. Yet based on the slow rate of progress over the last three years, it will take twenty-five years to reach gender parity at the senior-VP level and more than one hundred years in the C-suite.

Integration of gender diversity within the DNA of an organization by mainstreaming it in all people processes is the only way to change the culture and the numbers of the organization. Many companies are taking an external focus in the sense to ensure their employee base reflects their customer base as well. With women making a huge portion of buying decisions in the family, more and more companies are onboarding women in their decision making processes and roles. Actively strengthening the women and grooming them for those senior roles is another way companies are increasing their talent pools for the future.

  • HOW WE CAN PITCH IN
  • Compared with men at the same level, SVP-level women are 20 percent less likely to leave, and women in the C-suite are about half as likely to leave.
  • Across levels, the expected representation of women is 15 percent lower than that of men.
  • Only 37 percent of women and 49 percent of men believe gender diversity is a top priority for their CEO.
  • Only about one-third of employees believe that gender diversity is a top priority for their direct manager.
  • Only 40 percent of companies hold managers accountable for performance on gender-diversity metrics.
  • Of the top 500 companies by revenues, only 21 are headed by women
